Bahasa Indonesia is a unique language. Indonesian people are worthy to be proud of their language. Indonesia is an archipelago country. A country with thousands islands. People who live in each island have their own vernacular. Of course it is difficult for an island people to communicate with other islands people if they speak with their own local language. Bahasa Indonesia solves this problem.
But now, I think, more and more Indonesians are not proud of their unifying language. Many people speak standard bahasa Indonesia. They prefer speak slang. This is a detriment for bahasa Indonesia.
So, I am one who feels so gleeful when I know that there is an Indonesian who write a textbook about how to learn bahasa Indonesia and The textbook has become one of the principle resources for Indonesian language studies in Australia.
We, the Indonesian, must appreciate it.
