We still have many illiterate people all around the country. According to National Education Development fact 2005 � 2007 issued by National Education Department we know that there are 11,8 illiterate people in this country. 17 provinces have illiterate people more than 5 percent. This exceeds national target.
Government develops �neighbor as tutor� to fight against illiteracy. This method considered more effective to shorten learning process. Normally, the learning process needs 6 months. Whereas this method just needs two to three months.
We hope we�ll be free from illiteracy soon.

Kita masih memiliki banyak warga yang buta huruf. Berdasarkan data dari Pembangunan Pendidikan Nasional 2005-2007 yang dikeluarkan Departemen Pendidikan Nasional, warga buta aksara saat ini berjumlah sekitar 11,8 juta orang. Sebanyak 17 provinsi masih memiliki jumlah penyandang buta aksara melampau target nasional di atas 5 persen.
Pemerintah mengembangkan �tutor tetangga� untuk memberantas buta aksara. Metode ini dianggap lebih efektif untuk menyingkat waktu pembelajaran. Biasanya, proses pembelajaran membutuhkan waktu 6 bulan. Sedangkan metode ini hanya membutuhkan waktu dua sampai tiga bulan saja.
Kita berharap segera terbebas dari kebuta aksaraan segera.
